Understand the impact of Phase 2 of the MAS Consolidation on your GSA Schedule, including temporary holds, modification schedules, and potential benefits.
The Phase 2 mass modification of GSA's Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) Consolidation marks a critical transition for existing GSA Schedule contract holders, effectively moving them to the new consolidated MAS structure. As this phase is set to commence, here are the essential insights and impacts for GSA Schedule holders:
Take note of a temporary halt on SIN additions that will occur from the end of January to mid-March due to system updates. If you need to add a SIN, ensure it's done before this period.
From the end of January, look out for GSA issuing mass modifications to approximately 2,000 contractors daily over a two-week period. The order will be based on the legacy schedule number.
Companies holding multiple schedules should prepare to receive and must accept a mass modification for each. Please note that the actual consolidation of multiple schedules into one will occur in Phase 3.
Contractors have until July 31, 2020, to accept the mass modification. Failure to accept by this deadline will result in the contract being dropped from GSA eLibrary and GSA Advantage.
There are several potential benefits to look forward to with the consolidation. It is anticipated to reduce administrative burdens, especially for those holding multiple schedules. As a bonus, it delivers a streamlined way to expand offerings under the GSA Schedule without needing additional contracts for different product or service categories.
Once you have accepted the mass modification, you'll be able to add any qualifying products or services from the consolidated MAS offerings to your existing contract. This reflects the streamlined and unified approach of the new MAS. The MAS Consolidation represents a significant step towards simplifying and streamlining the GSA Schedules Program, potentially offering more flexibility and opportunities for contractors while reducing administrative complexities.
